A true Muslim friend is someone who wants you to succeed so much that they're willing to share their success with you, in this case, their gold medal.
A true Muslim friend is someone who pushes you to be the best, and then knows there is enough room at the top for both of you.
A true Muslim friend is one who helps you through your struggles.
A true Muslim friend is one who doesn't want you to lose but will try to help you win.
During the finals for the high jump , two athletes failed to scale the last height. Qatar's Mutaz Essa Barshim decided to share the gold with his friend Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi for the men’s high jump.
The official at the Olympics explained to the men that they could have a jump off, but instead Qatar’s Barshim asked, "Can we share the gold."

The crowd cheered loudly for the two athletes!
The two athletes have been friends for more than 10 years. They've competed against each other. They've attended each other's family events. They even helped each other recover from severe injuries.
In a world that tells us that winning is everything, that we need to push others out of the way to get to the top, that we can only get what we want by pushing others down, we got to see true faith in action and show the world a better way.
Find a good Muslim friend who’s willing to share with you the ‘gold medal’ they've worked toward their whole life! Then hold their hand tight and never let go! For that is a sign of true Islamic character. π₯
