They asked for Water and Electricity. Afghan security forces responded with Bullets. 3 people killed and dozens injured
A protest took place on Tuesday in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, where demonstrators came outside the governor's compound asking for water and electricity and adequate security. Instead what they got were bullets. At least 3 people killed and dozens injured.
I don't report too much on Afghanistan, but literally every single day there are multiple battles taking place across the country in every district between Afghan security forces and the Taliban.
Every single day the Taliban continue to gain more ground and take over more bases, many of the Afghan soldiers can be seen in videos surrendering to the Taliban along with their equipment or fleeing their bases. The Taliban has surrounded many of the provincial capitals now and control much of the rural areas.
As the complete US withdrawal draws closer, we wait to see what is to come. Will the Afghan government be able to hold off the Taliban? Will they reach peace and power-sharing agreements with the Taliban? or will the Taliban overrun the country and the capital Kabul once again?
