ISRAELI POLICE ATTACK PALESTINE WORSHIPERS | PALESTINE UPDATE | MASJID AQSA JERUSALEM SHEIKH JARRAH
ISRAELI SOLDIER DRAGS PALESTINIAN GIRL BY HER HIJAB IN SHEIKH JARRAH
Masjid Al-Aqsa is important in Islam because Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad was transported from the Scared Mosque in Mecca to Al-Aqsa during the Night Journey, and then on to heaven. It is also believed that the Prophet Muhammad led prayers towards this site until Allah directed him to turn towards the Kaaba.
It was the second place of worship build in Islam, 40 years after the Kaaba, and is mentioned in the Qur’an as being ‘holy’ and ‘blessed’ in numerous extracts.
According to Islamic scriptures, the Prophet Muhammed taught followers that they should undertake a special journey to one of three important mosques: Masjid Al-Haram in Mecca, Al Masjid An-Nabawi in Madinah, and Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. Prayers in these special mosques will generate amazing blessings and worshippers will receive at least 500 times the reward of Salaah performed in another location.
Another night of violence has left at least 90 Palestinians wounded after Israeli police cracked down on protesters outside occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City, as concerns over an escalation grew.
An estimated 90,000 Muslim worshippers prayed at the nearby Al-Aqsa Mosque on Islam’s holy night of Laylat al-Qadr – or the “Night of Destiny”, the most sacred of prayers during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan – on Saturday.
Some stayed on to protest Israeli plans to forcibly expel Palestinian families from their homes on land claimed by illegal Jewish settlers in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem.
Israeli security forces on horseback and in riot gear fired stun grenades and water cannon against Palestinians who in turn threw stones, lit fires, and tore down police barricades in the streets leading to the walled Old City’s gates.
Israeli security forces were on high alert on Sunday, bracing for a further escalation ahead of what Israelis call Jerusalem Day. Many Israelis mark the day East Jerusalem was occupied and later annexed in 1967 with marches throughout Jerusalem each year.
About 30,000 Jewish settlers are expected to participate in a march towards the Damascus Gate in the Old City on Monday.
The gate will be closed to Palestinians until 7:30pm for “security reasons”, Israeli police said, adding 3,000 forces would be deployed.
Palestinians have staged a series of sit-ins in the area in recent days denouncing Israeli orders for them to be removed from their homes. Israeli security forces have attacked the demonstrators using skunk water, tear gas, rubber-coated rounds and shock grenades.
The moments before the Israeli army opened fire and bombarded grenades at a clinic inside masjid al Aqsa mosque compound, were the Palestinians who got injured moments before where receiving medical care.
Please spread this video so we all can raise awareness and make dua in this blessed days of Ramadan.
