SRI LANKA WHATSAPP USERS' ACCOUNTS AT RISK OF BEING DISABLED - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Thousands of Sri Lankan WhatsApp users who rejected the new terms are at risk of having their accounts blocked, according to the Information Technology Association of Sri Lanka.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Information Technology Association of Sri Lanka.
WhatsApp has announced that all WhatsApp users who do not agree to the updated terms and set of Privacy Policy will no longer receive SMS or send messages.
WhatsApp has announced that users who do not agree to the new terms and conditions will only be given temporarily limited time calls and notifications.
Accounts of WhatsApp users who do not comply with the updated terms and set of Privacy Policy will then be listed as inactive accounts.
The Information Technology Association of Sri Lanka has stated that inactive accounts will be deleted after 120 days.
