Just earlier today the US has officially declared that it recognises that China is comitting a genocide against the Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang. This is the first country to recognise and acknowledge this genocide. What does this mean for the future? I don't know... Joe Biden is set to become president tomorrow and many things could change.
But Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier tweeted the following:
"I have determined that the People’s Republic of China is committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang, China, targeting Uyghur Muslims and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups. These acts are an affront to the Chinese people and to civilized nations everywhere. The People's Republic of China and the CCP must be held to account."
As I've stated before in previous posts we Muslims are not fooled by the United States support for the Uyghurs, regardless of what their hidden agenda is (China is their obvious enemy), we can at least appreciate that alhamdulillah at least this is now being spoken about widely and is being recognised.
We can only hope that the leaders of Muslim countries grow some and can at least speak about the genocide taking place against the Uyghur Muslims.
May Allah relive the suffering of our Uyghur brothers and sisters and free then from this oppression, Ameen.
