Fatima Shireen Inamullah Maulana, a student of Mahmood Women's College, Kalmunai, won gold at the International Scientific Research Competition in Indonesia and won first place for Sri Lanka.
Arriving at the Katunayake Airport on Saturday (18) with this achievement, she was welcomed there and many national television media outlets visited and interviewed this record student.
The International Scientific Research Competition was held from the 13th to the 16th of this month at the University of Java, Indonesia, organized by the International Institute of Scientific, Technical and Engineering Research.
Fathima Shireen, who represented Sri Lanka in the final 24, has won the Gold Award.
In December 2018, she won the first place at the national level in the All Sri Lanka Scientific Research Competition organized by the National Science Research Council at the Sri Lanka Institute of Engineering in Colombo in the presence of professors from the Departmental University.
Her scientific research was based on the global warming caused by concrete buildings.
Fatima Shireen, a student of Biological Sciences, Mahmood College, Kalmunai, had secured the highest marks in the Grade-5 Scholarship Examination in 2012 and 09A marks in the GCE (O/L) Examination in 2018.
