The Muslim Council of Britain has stated that many countries have supported the forcible cremation of the bodies of those who died of the corona virus in Sri Lanka.
He told the international media.
He said the situation in Sri Lanka was dire.
"We have set up a task force. By the grace of God, we will launch a massive campaign against the forced cremation of the bodies of those died by the coronavirus," he said.
"We have been in touch with more than 20 countries, heads of many countries, departments and foreign ministers," he said.
All of them are subject to the international law of Sri Lanka; Under. Sir Iqbal Zakraine, the founding secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "We are in touch with the office of the President of Turkey and we hope he will stop this operation in Sri Lanka.
He noted that the British Foreign Office had written to the Sri Lankan government pointing out the concerns of Muslims.
Noting that many countries, including South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, support us, he expressed the hope that all these countries will support us so that a solution can be found soon.
"We do not want this dangerous precedent to set in Sri Lanka," he said.
If the international community allows Sri Lanka to do what it wants in this matter, other countries may resort to the same tactic for reasons such as fears about politics and Islam, said Sir Iqbal Sakrine, the founding secretary general of the British Muslim Council.
He also said that we should not insult the dead and we should not engage in any act of insulting the saints against the dead by the corona.
He lamented that it was meaningless for some Sri Lankan officials to say that the bodies of the victims could turn into biological weapons against certain communities.
He also appealed to the High Commission to send a strong message that Muslims will not tolerate injustice in any part of the world.
He added that the international media should give prominence to the issue in Sri Lanka and I expect that more and more people in the world will fight against it in a dignified manner.
