JUSTICE FOR SHAYKH, 20 DAYS OLD BABY WHO FORCEFULLY CREMATED IN SRI LANKA WITHOUT HIS PARENTS CONSENT!, DETAILED DOCUMENTARY ABOUT FORCE CREMATION. -Lawyer Aritha W

20 DAY OLD BABY SHAYKH WAS FORCEFULLY CREMATED IN SRI LANKA YESTERDAY WITHOUT HIS PARENTS CONSENT!

BABY SHAYKH WAS APPARENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH COVID19. BUT NEITHER OF HIS PARENTS WERE INFECTED WITH THE VIRUS. THE HOSPITAL ALSO DENIED A PCR TEST FOR THE BABY. HIS PARENTS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY GOODBYE TO HIM EITHER.

SRI LANKA'S COVID19 HEALTH GUIDELINES REQUIRE MANDATORY CREMATION OF VICTIMS OF THE VIRUS. BUT THERE IS NO SCIENCE TO BACK ITS DECISION.

Mandatory cremation violates an important tenet of Islam that requires dignified burial of the dead. The issue has caused a religious divide in a country that never seems to learn the lessons of unity and healing.

WHO and ICRC guidelines are clear that burial of COVID19 victims bears no risk and is encouraged. Guidelines require the respectful and dignified burial of the dead following religious and cultural rites. Sri Lanka's decision therefore has no scientific basis.

SRI LANKAN DOCTORS ARGUE THAT BURYING COVID 19 DEAD RISKS INFECTING OUR WATERWAYS. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NO ANSWER TO THE OVER 30,000 COVID 19 PATIENTS WHO ARE DAILY USING OUR DRAINAGE AND SEWAGE WHEN DEFECATING, URINATING OR SPEWING THEIR PHLEGM INTO PUBLIC LATRINES.

A petition by aggrieved Christians and Muslims against mandatory cremation was dismissed by the Supreme Court. The law allows for limitations on fundamental rights on public health. But why didn't the Court determine if the restriction was reasonable?

Sri Lankan Muslims and Christians have to now rely on their politicians for a scientific solution to their grievances.

MPs have been busy drinking a magic potion to cure COVID19 with ZERO science or testing to back its claims.

The Health Minister recently threw a plastic covered pot full of "Miracle Water" to end COVID. The plastic is likely to cause more damage to our waterways than burying the dead.

Shaykh was only 20 days old. He reportedly died of COVID19. The doctors had conducted an antigen test (which can give false positives) on him. When Shayk’s parents, both of whom tested negative for COVID19, requested a PCR test for a more accurate result, the hospital had allegedly denied it.

Yesterday, Shaykh was subject to a forced cremation. His parents didn’t even have the chance to say good bye. No mother or father deserves that. Whatever the circumstances.

Shaykh’s forcedcremation was against all accepted international medical advice.

Against the fundamental religious convictions and traditions of the Muslim community.

Against World Health Organization (WHO) (WHO) guidelines on management of COVID19 victims.

Against International Committee of the Red Cross guidelines.

Against the values of decency and dignity for the dead.

Against Buddhist, Christian and Hindu values.

Against common sense.

Against humanity.

There is ZERO evidence that burial of victims of COVID19 risks contaminating our waterways. This is especially considering that living COVID19 patients are actively using our waterways and sewage multiple times a day.

Sri Lanka has now had over 30,000 COVID19 patients. Each patient spends at minimum 14 days in hospital. A human being generally defecates once a day and urinates about 8 times a day. This means that COVID19 patients have used our public sewage and waterways at least 3.8 million times already! This excludes the number of times patients would have blown their nose or coughed phlegm into the washroom sink. This fact itself shows the absurdity of the mandatory cremation policy.

SriLanka remains the only country to mandate cremation of victims of COVID19.

It is a policy based in voodoo. Not science. But it is also a policy that has caused immense pain and hurt.

To my Muslim brothers and sisters, I apologise for the pain and hurt you are experiencing. You deserve and are entitled to bury your loved ones in a dignified manner.

To my Government. If you can believe in magic potions from Kegalle and throwing clay pots into the river to cure COVID, you can very well believe in WHO guidelines.
