20 DAY OLD BABY SHAYKH WAS FORCEFULLY CREMATED IN SRI LANKA YESTERDAY WITHOUT HIS PARENTS CONSENT!
The Health Minister recently threw a plastic covered pot full of "Miracle Water" to end COVID. The plastic is likely to cause more damage to our waterways than burying the dead.
Shaykh was only 20 days old. He reportedly died of COVID19. The doctors had conducted an antigen test (which can give false positives) on him. When Shayk’s parents, both of whom tested negative for COVID19, requested a PCR test for a more accurate result, the hospital had allegedly denied it.
Yesterday, Shaykh was subject to a forced cremation. His parents didn’t even have the chance to say good bye. No mother or father deserves that. Whatever the circumstances.
Shaykh’s forcedcremation was against all accepted international medical advice.
Against the fundamental religious convictions and traditions of the Muslim community.
Against World Health Organization (WHO) (WHO) guidelines on management of COVID19 victims.
Against International Committee of the Red Cross guidelines.
Against the values of decency and dignity for the dead.
Against Buddhist, Christian and Hindu values.
Against common sense.
Against humanity.
There is ZERO evidence that burial of victims of COVID19 risks contaminating our waterways. This is especially considering that living COVID19 patients are actively using our waterways and sewage multiple times a day.
Sri Lanka has now had over 30,000 COVID19 patients. Each patient spends at minimum 14 days in hospital. A human being generally defecates once a day and urinates about 8 times a day. This means that COVID19 patients have used our public sewage and waterways at least 3.8 million times already! This excludes the number of times patients would have blown their nose or coughed phlegm into the washroom sink. This fact itself shows the absurdity of the mandatory cremation policy.
SriLanka remains the only country to mandate cremation of victims of COVID19.
It is a policy based in voodoo. Not science. But it is also a policy that has caused immense pain and hurt.
To my Muslim brothers and sisters, I apologise for the pain and hurt you are experiencing. You deserve and are entitled to bury your loved ones in a dignified manner.
To my Government. If you can believe in magic potions from Kegalle and throwing clay pots into the river to cure COVID, you can very well believe in WHO guidelines.
