HALIMA AND NEELOFA QUIT MODELLING AND THE FASHION INDUSTRY, WHAT'S THE MESSAGE FOR OTHERS.!
Recently Halima Aden has been in the news for coming out on social media about quitting modelling and the fashion industry as she realised and she knew that islamically what she was doing was wrong. Similarly in the past month of two in East Asia and preminantly in Malaysia Neelofa is another person who's had a similar rise to fame, through winning beauty contests and modelling and then being an actress and in the entertainment industry. She also quit that lifestyle and I'm told now wears niqab, alhamdulillah.
I want to share this as a reminder to many people. I have had in the past many people who message me, both men and women, some who are in modelling or in the fashion or entertainment industry and they know 100% that what they are doing is haram and not right, but they feel like they don't have a way out. Similarly there are others who have just fallen into a cycle of sin and don't see any way out.
These two people here are proof to you that there is always a way out. If they followed the lifestyle they were upon they could've had even more fame in the dunya and even bigger contracts and more money laying in front of them. But they realise and know that what they're doing is wrong, this life is a very short life and ultimately a test from Allah (God).
Some people are tested with poverty, some people are tested with health, some people are tested with wealth and fame, we all have our own struggles and tests. But there is ALWAYS a way out of that cycle of sin and that hole you feel stuck inside.
If you are sincere in wanting to leave the lifestyle, if you are sincere to yourself and to Allah (God), and you work strive towards leaving that behind you and pleasing Allah (God), then you will find a way out. And no matter what you've done in the past, Allah (God) tells us that if you were to come to him seeking his forgiveness, and you had sins as much to fill the entire earth, even then he will forgive you.
So there is always a way out if you truly seek it. May Allah (God) guide us all upon the right path, Ameen.
